Welcome to my home for Atari video game systems! Who's 'Stella' and what's a 'Boneyard'? Stella, of course, is the Atari code name for the most popular game system of all time, the Atari VCS (2600). A bone yard is a place where old machines (usually airplanes) are parked to either rust or be salvaged for parts. This shouldn't happen to the VCS, or her sisters PAM (5200 Super System) or MARIA (7800 Pro System).

This is my page for trade/sale, valuable links I have discovered (good prices on games and hardware, etc.), and some pictures of vintage Atari items from the 80's (remember the 80's?).  If you're looking for an Atari or other system to share with your kids (let them know how primitive we were back then!)  I usually have a couple units on hand (see list below). Contact me at mailto:georgereese@hotmail.com

Stella's Boneyard is now a proud member of the Atari Historical Society! Click on the above logo to visit the AHS.

WHERE'S THE GRANDMOTHER OF ALL STELLAS?

If you have an early VCS (1977) send me an e-mail and put down the serial number from the bottom of your VCS. I'd like to find out where the oldest 2600 unit is (not counting the one in Nolan Bushnell's garage!)

Many people familiar with Atari are aware of the stories of Atari products being codenamed after female secretaries who worked for Atari. The Atari 400 was codenamed Candy, the Atari 800 was codenamed Colleen, the Atari 5200 was codenamed PAM and there are many other codenames for other Atari products. One product in particular, Atari's most popular, and the worlds most famous video game console the Atari 2600 Video Computer System was not named after an Atari secretary, but instead after one of the original engineer's (Joe Decuir) bicycle!

Atari 5200 Super System lovers, COME JOIN ME!

I'm hosting a forum called 'Save the 5200' . Please drop on by and share your memorable experiences with your PAM (5200) at http://forums.delphiforums.com/Atati5200  It's a great forum for video game enthusiasts and those looking for gaming hints, hardware, software, etc. I'll be starting a PAM registry here soon, so start sending in your Super System serial numbers with how many ports it has. We'll look for the oldest PAM and the last one!

Also, stay tuned for news on two new 5200 games now in the works! A version of Atari AIRWORLD, and a helicopter/ firefighter game from Ron Lloyd (Cafeman). About time the Super System got some new blood!

ALSO, Charlie Guinn (Voltman3) is busy burning 5200 EPROMS with those unreleased prototype games you always wanted, but can't afford to buy as 'lab loaners'. Games such as Tempest, Asteroids, and Millipede! His link is below, ask him!

 Atari Tech Support/Repair

If you are having problems with your 2600, 5200 or 7800 system or controllers (joysticks or Trak-Ball) give me a call. I have the diagnostic tools and repair parts to get your Atari back in business.  Don't let an Ebay dud get you down - get it up and running with help from the Boneyard! The charge for diagnostics and light repairs is only $20.00, plus parts.

ATARI GAME TIPS:

*Like the NES pad controllers? Find a Sega Master System controller, they work just like the NES controllers and are 100% Atari 2600 compatible! Improved control (the Atari CX78 controllers sold in Europe with 7800 ProSystems were this kind). The second button won't work for the 7800, however.

*When playing Space Invaders on the 2600, hold down the RESET switch when you turn the power on. You'll get two missiles per shot instead of one!

*The two port 5200 does not play PITFALL! or MOUNTAIN KING. The four port does, but it can't use the VCS adapter, unless it's a modified or universal motherboard. Confused?

*The earliest 7800 consoles have an expansion port on the left side. These ones are fully compatible with all 2600 software and Starpath Superchargers (the later non-ported consoles might even short out your Supercharger!). We'll do a MARIA serial number registry soon, send 'em in now!

My latest project is authentic looking Atari 5200 boxes, manuals, and labels for unreleased prototype games! I'll post a picture of the finished products soon, you'll see CIB 5200 Asteroids!

WHAT STUFF AM I LOOKING FOR?
*PARTY MIX  by Starpath (the only Starpath game I did not buy when new) with box/docs, FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER (box/docs), FIGHTER PILOT by Activision box and manual
*StarCon joystick for the 5200

AND FINALLY.....

I have completed my 5200 library, all released games. I need a box and manual  for Bounty Bob Strikes Back .
